Deepen your listening, embody your sound
There is a point where sound stops being something you receive and becomes something you want to hold for other people. Rite of Resonance is built for that step.
Across seven days in the green outside Ubud, you move through the full arc of the work: from first listening to confident facilitation, from personal practice to holding a room. The training is open to anyone drawn to sound, whether you are starting fresh or already working in the field.
This immersion is a fit if you want to:
- Build a strong foundation in sound, voice and instruments
- Learn to design and guide a sound journey
- Deepen your musicality and listening
- Feel confident using sound in one-to-one and group settings
- Bring clarity and structure to a practice you already have
- Train in a fully residential, immersive setting
Why train with Senses in Bali
FULLY RESIDENTIAL
You sleep on site at our retreat centre in Ubud. One price covers your room, every meal and the full training, so you can give the week your whole attention.
GROUNDED IN SCIENCE AND SPIRIT
Nervous-system aware and trauma-informed facilitation, alongside music theory, harmonics and the deeper craft of sound. Real depth, no fluff.
YACEP CERTIFIED
You finish with a 50-hour Sound Practitioner Certification (YACEP), recognised as Yoga Alliance continuing education.
SMALL GROUP
A contained training means close guidance and direct feedback through the week, in practice spaces and group sessions.
IN PARTNERSHIP WITH SOULRAVEL
Taught by Soulravel, who have trained sound practitioners across Sri Lanka, Bali and Europe.
A PRACTICE YOU CAN OFFER
You leave able to design and hold a sound journey, with the structure and confidence to share it.
WHAT YOU'LL LEARN
Musical foundations & sound design
A sound journey is shaped by how sound is organised. We cover the essentials of music, melody, rhythm, harmony and tonal relationships, and how they combine into a coherent, immersive session. Practical structure to support your intuition.
Instrument practice & integration
Hands-on work with a wide range of instruments: Himalayan bowls, gongs, flutes, drums, harmonium and more. You refine your touch, timing and listening, and learn how sounds interact and how to build space within a soundscape.
Somatics & embodied movement
We begin in the body. Somatic practices and gentle movement build a closer sensitivity to physical sensation and to the state of your own nervous system, so you work from direct perception rather than from the head.
The voice as instrument
Your voice is the most immediate instrument you have. Through vocal activation, toning and breath, you learn to access it with more ease, and to work gently through the patterns that hold it back.
Guiding & holding space
Facilitation is as much how you guide as what you play. We cover clear guidance, staying present, reading the room, group dynamics and boundaries, and a grounded, trauma-informed presence as a facilitator.
Bringing your work into the world
For those ready to share this work, we look at how to shape your sessions and speak about what you offer in a simple, honest, sustainable way.
A TYPICAL DAY
Morning — sadhana & sound.
We begin in the body. Movement, breath, voice and sound meditation. Arriving before doing, listening before playing.
Midday — study & understanding
Music theory, harmonic relationships, tonal layering, rhythm and journey design. Nervous-system awareness and how to guide with clarity.
Afternoon — instrument lab
Time with your instruments. Refining touch, transitions, layering, timing and dynamic range, one to one and in small groups.
Evening — integration & experience
Sound journeys, shared facilitation, listening and reflection. Less doing, more receiving, the day settling in the body.
Please note this is a sample schedule and may change day by day. The full scheduled will be sent to you before the training starts
